Job Description
The duties of a Hosted Systems Engineer include system administration, staging and deployment of engineering releases to production environments in a 24X7 Internet and Hosted Applications services Network Operations Center within Windows/SQL and Linux/Oracle operating environments.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor production systems, resolve issues proactively, escalating to senior engineers, if needed.
- Support production environments including Windows Server 2000-2008, IIS, Java, SQL 2000-2008, Linux, Apache, and Oracle.
- Install, administer, and update Windows and Linux servers.
- Work with engineering teams to qualify, stage and deploy releases to production.
- Tactical management of and contribution to team projects, including prioritization and multi-task assignments.
- Ensure operating standards are developed, maintained, and adhere to.
