Job Description
Ensure accurate creation and issue resolution for our manufacturing maintenance data, which is an essential component to the productivity and efficiencies at our food manufacturing facilities. The incumbent will use the Maximo maintenance application along with Internet research and phone/e-mail communication for analysis resulting from daily parts (MRO and OEM) requisitions submitted by our Material Inventory Specialists. Bill of materials (BOM) will also be created to document part’s use with key equipment at a facility. On-going communication will also take place with our Maintenance Facility Planners for the creation of Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Job Plan documents to ensure optimal equipment performance. Responsibilities require the incumbent to possess functional expertise in a manufacturing maintenance environment, along with strong customer relations skills in supporting the maintenance data needs of colleagues at our manufacturing facilities
Desired Candidate Profile
Accountabilities
A. On a daily basis, provide accurate and prompt analysis, creation, modification/cleansing of Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) equipment spare parts data for facility maintenance activities.
B. Work independently / directly with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) and General Mills’ vendors to ensure accurate material specifications and descriptions for material data setup.
C. Support manufacturing facilities in the setup of OEM materials for manufacturing Capital project efforts.
D. Creation of spare parts data records in support of Specialized Maintenance for A and B equipment
E. Creation of Bill of Material (BOM) for parts with association to facility’s assets/equipment.
F. Creation of clear process documentation and strive for continuous improvement of processes and efficiency
G. Conduct ‘Ad hoc’ training via phone and ‘Live Meeting’ in the use of Maximo’s searching capabilities for spare parts availability throughout General Mill’s Supply Chain inventory.
H. Update, modify, and maintain equipment records
I. Ensure that job plans with the work orders are clear and concise
J. Coordinate with the stockrooms kitted parts for planned work
K. Walk down jobs to confirm the appropriate job plan and spare parts are included in the WO
L. Interface with the plant tech teams on a daily basis to insure seamless communication
M. Utilize Maximo maintenance management system by navigating through screens to enter data, understanding the work order control system and understanding the parts/stock requisitioning process.
N. Perform other duties as assigned
Relationships
A. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Reliability Team Lead in the Supply Chain division. Hours of operation are 6:30PM to 4:30AM Mumbai time (M-F).
B. In performing these accountabilities, the incumbent must develop and maintain an effective working relationship with GMI employees, their vendors and OEM’s as necessary, primarily in the U.S and Canada.
Qualifications
A. Two to five years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
B. Background in equipment Maintenance (potentially a previous technician)
C. Planning/scheduling experience would be preferred
D. Strong customer service skills and prompt response to requests to maintain the Service Response Level with our manufacturing facilities.
E. The ability to deliver outstanding results using your manufacturing experience, critical thinking, communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and business acumen.
F. Speaks, reads and writes English fluently
G. Experience communicating effectively with U.S. personnel over phone
Skills/Competencies
A. Experience with Maximo facility maintenance software
B. Technical skills to include mechanical, electrical and controls systems (fasteners, pneumatics, lubrication, drive systems, electrical components, etc)
C. Advanced MS Office computer skills preferred (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
D. Delivering outstanding results
E. Technical aptitude – able to read schematics, drawings, manuals, etc.
F. Strong communication: written, verbal and listening skills
G. Experience with technical writing (job plans)
H. Strong and effective interpersonal skills
I. Demonstrates strong customer focus – both internal and external customer base
J. Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills
K. Takes initiative and is self-directed
Degrees Preferred
Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred
