Job Description
Essential Function
' Work with the automation team to devise, develop, and expand a scalable reusable automation framework using Compuware's TestPartner.
' Work with product teams to implement automation strategy and convert existing test scripts to automated scripts.
' Work with automation team to devise additional ways to automate routine tasks of product teams
' Work with Automation lead to develop, deploy, and expand best practices for automation.
' Work with development teams to design and develop integration with development practices.
Key Accountabilities
' Develop overall project validation strategy and approach.
' Mentor Validation engineers. Provides guidance and direction to project level validation efforts.
' Develop and execute detailed test automation specifications. Records and tracks detailed results.
' Work closely with project team members throughout the project software development life cycle.
' Review all pertinent project documentation including requirements, technical specification, project validation deliverables reviews and project walk-troughs.
' Participate in automation defect review meetings. Monitor and maintain automation defect tracking database.
' Assist in the creation/maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures.
' Respond to all inquiries regarding the project under test.
' Track issues in defect tracking system. Prepares defect metric reports. Analyzes defect metrics for trends and progress.
' Report on project testing status to management.
' Train project teams in the effective implementation of the automation framework.
Desired Candidate Profile
Skills
' Knowledge of automated test tools required
' Experience with automation design and strategy.
' Excellent knowledge of software testing techniques and test case development; can easily determine what test case is required for various testing scenarios.
' Knowledge of software development languages and tools such as C++, Java, and SQL.
' Knowledge of relational databases, preferably Oracle.
' Familiarity with database design and/or testing.
' Experience supporting multiple concurrent tasks.
' Knowledge of VBA and/or scripting a plus
' Knowledge of automation tool TestPartner a plus
Education
' BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
Language Skills
' N/A
Minimum Work Experience
' 3+ years experience in structured software automation life cycle and validation, (preferably including software testing in a regulated industry).
