Job Description

Essential Function

' Provide hands on project/product level leadership for company's software QA, test automation and/or API testing efforts.

' Facilitate communication and coordination with team members located in India and the US.

' Be a location based problem solver for team to ensure efficiency in a multi location team.

' Devise and design test strategies, test plans, and test scripts to support project validation efforts.

' Review and sign project requirements and other validation deliverables.

' Design Validation Plan, Test Plan, Traceability Matrix and Validation Script documents.

' Interact with Engineering, Client Applications Development and Project Management and other project team members.

' Interfacing with Software Quality Assurance Management, Quality Process Management, Application Development/Engineering and Project Management and other project team members.

 

Key Accountabilities

' Represent SQA at project/product team meetings and steering committee. Understand all aspects of the project - technically and administratively.

' Develop and/or contribute to overall project validation strategy and approach.

' Mentor QA engineers. Provides guidance and direction to project level QA efforts.

' Actively monitor communication and coordination between distributed team members and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

' Develop and execute automated and manual detailed test specifications. Record and track detailed results.

' Maintain test scenarios and test data for projects under test.

' Work closely with project team members throughout the project software development life cycle.

' Review all pertinent project documentation including requirements, technical specification, project validation deliverables reviews and project walk-troughs.

' Participate in software defect review meetings. Monitor and maintain automated software defect tracking database.

' Participates in Audits.

' Assist in the creation/maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures.

' Respond to all inquiries regarding the project under test.

' Track issues in defect tracking system. Prepares defect metric reports. Analyzes defect metrics for trends and progress.

' Report on project testing status to management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Skills

' 4+ years in product/project software validation and testing leadership roles.

' Experience with test case design and strategy

' Ability to find alternative solutions and adjust strategy to meet team goals.

' Experience with Test Automation and/or API testing.

' Excellent knowledge of software testing techniques and test case development; can easily determine what test case is required for various testing scenarios.

' Knowledge of relational databases, preferably Oracle.

' Familiarity with database design and/or testing.

' Experience supporting multiple concurrent tasks.

' Knowledge of software development languages and tools such as C++, Java, and SQL is highly desirable

' Knowledge of clinical data management process for FDA regulated companies is a plus. Familiarity with FDA regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP desirable.

 

Education

' BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

 

Language Skills

' Proficient in English

 

Minimum Work Experience

' 6+ years experience in structured software development life cycle and validation, (preferably including software testing in a regulated industry).
